The connotation of the word fly in this quote means that children could have better success, more freedoms and continue to be treated equally. Also, “fly” means that children could express deep feeling about their rights and become the next generation.
This quote means that all the actions that the people took in the past led from one thing to another. Rosa Parks sat in the front seat of a bus which led to the boycott and ending segregation. This led to protesting of equal rights by Martin Luther king, Jr. Jessie Jackson ran for president. He gave courage to other blacks to stand up for their own kind. Barack Obama is our president in present-day United States. He gives us children hope for our future. Each of these prize citizens did what they did to make themselves part of America. Each of these important people did what they did to make society better for the future generations.
