This quote is saying that if you don't like the book, why read it. Like once during the summer my mom was telling me to read a lord of the rings book and from the first 2 pages I knew I wasn't going to like it so I just read Maniac Magee. There are no comments me to comment on.
This quote mean if you don't like a book why would you read it. The book should be intersecting to you in order for you to enjoy that book. Yesterday my friend gave me a book called "To BE Together" just by looking at it I knew I wasn't going to read it. I agree with Shawn Alexis because I think what he said is mostly what the quote is saying.

I think that the quote means that if a certain book doesn't entertain or interest us in any way , there would be no reason or challenge to read it .For instance when my cousin told me to try and read the Alex Ride series, I tried to because it sounded interesting.However , as soon as I had read the first five pages, I felt boredom wash over me like the sea does at the beach .I agree with Shawn Alexis and Toni James because they both seem to understand the concept of the quote , and can do a text-to-me connection.

This quote means that if a book isn’t fit for us we should conclude that it may bore us and it won’t get the reader’s attention. The book should help us with things so we can refer to it. Also, it should be enjoyable to read so we can read it more to let our brain be active. Once, I read a book called “Parzival” and by reading the foreword I knew it was going to be useless. I did not enjoy it but still had to read it for class. The storyline was so erratic. I disagree with Toni because you can’t judge a book by a cover. I agree with her because some books aren’t our type.

I say this because there is this book i really really wanted to read (Rock Between A, Hard Place) and i got this book called Separte but Not Equal and it look boring. But when i read it it made me frozen and bored. the other people reading that book didnt want to read it. i think this quote means that if a book dosent interest you why bother to stay on it.. in order for you to be amazed you have to find a book to wake you for you to see what good it is inside. i agree with everyone expect Joshua because yes you can judge a book by its cover also it really dosent matter cause it can be good or bad so basically its 50-50 chance of facing a good book that may interest you than one that is a bore.so in all don't read a book that don't excite you because it wouldn't wake you it will just sit there and nothing will come to mind.its like what all parents or teachers say "when ever they speech it goes straight out the other ear." because when you read its like no information about the book is going through your mind its going rite out the door. so always read a book that may break the sea in us so we can explore what we are reading.

I think this quote not only relates to reading a book but also everyday life not everything we do in life is going to be intresting but we have to do them as a part of gaining knowledge over a period of time as the quote states why read a book if it does not wake us reading maketh a man and the more one read then u will be aware of your local knowledge and current affairs.I have to disagree with the statement because not everything a person read is going to be interesting but in life we are given tasks especially in schools that must be met whether we like reading a book that wakes us up.ARIANA HOLNESS

In my interpratation, this quote means:

I agree wuth this statement and with Ariana Holness because she truly understands the quote and gives a clear statement of her beliefs. I say that because, in life, when I don't understand emotions such as poetry, I seek to find its true meaning, and maybe even sometimes relate to it.

i think this quote is saying that if you dont like a book why read it or if you dont understand the book why would you read it. im not saying that you cant try but if you are really trying to read it and you still dont get it just give up because you already know its not in your level so you know just give it up. my mother gave me this book with like 800 pages, by looking at it i know that its not my level and it looks really boring.

I think the quote means that why would you be wasting your time on a book you do not like. For a book to be interesting it must pull you into the story. Once I was given a book called "House" to read which a lot of people found it appealing. When I started to read it I never understand what was great about it. Even on the first page there was nothing to keep me reading. I disagree with the statement because you don't have to keep reading something you don't enjoy. I think this quote means if you have a book and your not enjoying it why bother to continue reading it, its a waste of time. In elementary I was taught that in order to find a good book it should have all the things that you are looking for in a book. Why bother reading a book you do not like, it will be like someone is forcing you to read it.
