I think this quote means that a story must be interesting enough to even be seen or read.
The quote also explains the book should be unusual just as we are because the same thing might not have happened but something weird and unusual has happened in our life and the story we are read should remind us and amuse usof this.

this quote means that someone has read must have something unusal in it to relat to that an ordinary experience in an average man or woman. the text that they are reading should excite them and they should be able to feel that unusal event occuring. an example of a book that i have read would be 'The hunt for the seventh" by Christine Morton-Shaw.this story would be an example because one the characters in the story had went through a very weird experience that doesnt happen to any average human being everyday. this book made me feel like i was there and i would have never wanted to live their experience in my life.

A story must be a story that a man or a woman can relate to. I think this quote means when someone writes a story a man and a woman has be able to relate to it with another story or themselves, just like in Gary Soto's book "Taking Sides" when Lincoln has to make a hard decision and many people in real life have to make hard decisions all the time.

To me the said that in a story it has to have maybe more than one person or characteristic so the story can be more interesting to catch the readers eye so they would want to read more of the story. So that when they read they can feel or experience what the writer is saying and to get the vibes that the writer is sending. The story cannot be boring like I said you have to be able to feel the story get what they are saying not just read it for reading sake.

I think this quote means that in order for a story to be read or told it must be special, unique ,extraordinarily or different in some manner(s). If not it isn't going to be convinced or called a story at all.

I think that this quote means that a story must be exceptional or so good it makes the reader understand what the book is trying to say and at the same time to show different experence's to things not just normal things like an experience of an man or a woman. One book that proves this point is a book called "The majic school bus". This book proves this point because it is an exceptional book that is informative and jusifies it's tellings. It also shows unusual experiences that happens to an average person, like a class turning into water, shrinking to the size of atoms and riding in a majical school bus.

The quote means that every person has their own point of view of a story , whether its if it relates to you and yo have a connection with it, or it just catches your attention in a way. All books don't have the same connection with everybody because every one is not the same. A book that proves this point is The Skin Im In by Sharon G. Flake.

A story must have details and events that not all story have and for this story to be interesting it must have thing that are out of what you expect the story to talk about.I think that this quote means that all good and popular stories must be out of the extraordinary and it must shows really how the characters are acting and what they are doing so that the reading must feel that they are in the book and that it's so good that the reading stick into it. It's like "Anne of green gables" it makes you want to be with the characters and live what they are living.

This quote reminds me of the book Bunnicula. I think this because Bunnicula is about a character that has some trouble and dosen't know what is happening and everyone else does not understand.

"A story must be exceptional enough to justify its telling; it must have something more unusual to relate than the ordinary experience of every average man and woman." This quote means that beach story has a meaning behind it but it not so easy to understand. For exampel Gary Soto's poem , The Orange. This poem was about a girl and a boy taking a walk on a winter day. They went to the pharmarcy. The girl picked out a 10 cent chocolate. When the boy had to pay he couldnt because he only had 5 cents so he gave the 5 cents and the orange to pay for the chocolate. Some People didnt get this because you had to really think and read the poem over and over to get what Gary Was Saying. So each story has a meaning to it you just have to think about it.

In my own words, this quote means that a story is only worth telling if it has something unusual to relate to the average person and it must have a meaning. It is true that a story must have something special to relate to its reader, but a good story does not have to look on extraordinary experiences. The reader should be able to feel if happening. A book that proves this point is "My Side of the Mountain", by Jean Craighead George. This story would be an example, because this story is about a boy who who lived by himself in the mountain. He was responsible to take care of himself and he did all he can to survive. He has a lot of experiences that was very unusual.

If I would put this quote in my own words I would have say: A story must be good and factual so it can prove what it's trying to say;it must have something you never seen or never heard before to prove the unique experience of every man and woman. I read a book about what this quote is saying and it is true.

In my Own Words.......
A story must be outstanding to justify what it is saying and it must have something pericular to relate to rather to relate to then a regular experience of every average man and woman. I think that this quote means that a story whether its non-fiction, fiction , poetry it has to be amazing so that it can justify what it is saying. One example of a book that proves this book is Drama high . - Elan McGinty 271
